The RMT building is located in the Old Sauk Trails Office Park, which contains approximately 2,000,000 square feet of high quality office space. This property is located on the corner of Heartland Trail and Deming Way with access off both streets.
LABORATORYElectrical Service - 480/277 at 1600 AMPS, all panels are 225 AMP, panels are in the hallway for safety.
Heating System - The entire building is heated by 3 boilers for redundancy, using circulating hot water through VAV boxes (variable air volume) plus heat coils on the rooftop units of the LAB only.
Hot Tap Water - Circulated for the entire building utilizing 2 water softeners for redundancy, each at 68 gallons.
Soft Tap Water - Circulated for the entire building utilizing 2 water softeners for redundancy, TN-120 Alternating.
Cold Drinking Water - In the fountains and lunchroom areas only.
DI (de-ionized water) - Continually circulated to prevent bacteria growth.
Compressed Air - Passes over each room utilizing 2 compressors for redundancy.
Cooling System - Chilled water system. The air is cooled to 55 degrees to lower the humidity then reheated to the proper room temperature.
Three (3) Emergency Eye Wash/Shower Stations -
Air Handling System - Separated into (2), systems; split down the center hallway.
Exhaust System - Separated into (2) systems; split down the center hallway. There are 21 hoods and 26 "trunk drops". The exhaust blowers are high speed to project exhaust high into the atmosphere for good distribution. Air intake is 120 feet away.
Negative Air Rooms -
(Rooms used for sample preparation) Fumes are contained and exhausted outside.
